In the largest European television, radio and new media festival known as “Prix Europa”, the fairy-tale portal for children and parents – www.pasakas.net – was awarded the Special Jury Award.

The festival took place in the German capital of Berlin from 17 -24 October where approximately one thousand professionals in television, radio and the new media sector from more than 40 countries took part.

This year, the only representative in the festival from Latvia was www.pasakas.net. As is well known, “Prix Europa” is one of the largest international events in the television, radio and new media sectors. Portal www.pasakas.net was nominated for the “New Media” final which is a very high evaluation of the portal’s work during the last two and a half years since its establishment.

“So much effort has been invested in the establishment of the Pasakas portal and, at the opening of the festival, I was truly pleased to hear the organisers of “Prix Europa” emphasise, “The festival has joined the best in Europe. We are pleased to have had the opportunity to be among the best,” tells us Project Director Liene Jackeviča of “Ideju Forums” which represented Pasakas in the festival.

The thematic portal www.pasakas.net has 15,000 registered users. On average, daily it has 3,000–5,000 unique visitors. Monthly the portal is visited by 90,000 unique visitors on average. The average time spent in the portal – 9 minutes. 70 % from the site users are regulars. As of the beginning of 2009 until now, the site has had 902,000 unique visitors.
