Hands-on accessibility training for design and development teams.

Hands-on accessibility training for design and development teams.

What will you learn in this course?

01
What digital accessibility actually is

What WCAG principles mean in practice — and why they apply to marketing and communications work, not just development.

02
How limitations affect the way people use digital products

How different visual, hearing, motor, cognitive and perceptual limitations affect digital use — and what that means for how you create content.

03
Good solutions and bad ones, side by side

Contrast, buttons, links, forms, image descriptions, video subtitles, documents, language and structure — shown clearly, with the reasoning behind each.

04
How to catch issues before they become problems

A practical checklist of questions to ask before content goes live.

05
What non-compliance means for your organisation

Legal, financial and reputational implications — clearly explained, without the jargon.

06
Accessibility makes you easier to find — and harder to ignore

Well-structured, accessible content ranks better in search, gets picked up by AI tools navigating the web on users' behalf, and converts more of the audience you already have.

Why organisations need to comply

10 000€

The EU Accessibility Directive stipulates a fine of up to €10,000 for non-compliance, and regulatory authorities are already taking action.

24%

One in four adults in the European Union has some form of functional limitation. This is also a segment of the customer base that cannot be ignored.

Who is this training intended for?

Who is this training intended for?

Most violations go unaddressed not because organizations lack the will, but because the people making day-to-day decisions about content lack the necessary knowledge. This course is for you if you work with digital content—whether you write, create, commission, or approve it. Don’t worry about the technical aspects of accessibility; you simply need to know what to look for, what to ask, and what to report if something isn’t right.

FAQ

The Law on Accessibility of Goods and Services of the Republic of Latvia stipulates that the EU Accessibility Act applies to all websites and apps dealing with electronic commerce and whose service purpose is to conclude a distance contract. It is important to mention that the law does not apply to companies with an annual turnover of less than 2 million and with fewer than 10 employees.

The Law on Accessibility of Goods and Services provides for compliance with accessibility requirements to such an extent that it does not impose a disproportionate burden on the economic activity of the enterprise or does not lead to significant changes in the service itself. Observing how similar requirements are applied in other, similar areas, we can assume that there will be clarifications on this topic from the supervisory authorities closer to the date of entry into force of the law.

Overlay solutions are website plugins that are integrated into a website to ensure its accessibility. Although the creators of these plugins indirectly indicate them as a simple solution to implement accessibility guidelines, in reality they do not solve the problems that users who use assistive technologies on a daily basis will face. Therefore, they cannot be considered as adequate accessibility guidelines.
